“The goal is not to be concerned with the reconstitution of an anecdotal fact, but with the constitution of a pictorial fact.”

                    - George Braque

“I told you the truth, …Memory’s truth, because memory has its own special kind. It selects, eliminates, alters, exaggerates, minimizes, glorifies, and vilifies also; but in the end it creates its own reality, its heterogeneous but usually coherent version of events…”

                    - Salman Rushdie

My paintings, in the simplest sense, are a documentation of my life. They are created from a language based on memory and invention; built on a diagrammatical description of the world through my eyes. While they mirror reality, in some ways they distort and create their own reality as well.
